"Who really cares about it being unconstitutional?"

Pittsburgh City Councilwoman Tonya Payne is a typical Flaming Liberal!

The title of this blog is a quote by her about legislation she voted for and is likely to pass which requires citizens to report a lost or stolen firearm within 24 hours or be subject to a $500 fine.

Holy cow!

"This is what's right to do, and if this means that we have to go out and have a court battle, then that's fine ... We have plenty of dead bodies coming up in our streets every single day, and that is unacceptable."

So her "cure" is to punish people with a fine for lost or stolen firearms? Such is the way the liberal mind operates. Government knows best and damn you folks who cannot understand that concept.

The legislation passed 6-1 with 2 abstaining and the lonely voice of reason belongs to Councilman Ricky Burgess. He said, "This legislation will not strike a blow to straw purchasers,". This ordinance will not be enforced, no loopholes will be closed and no lives will be saved, because no municipality can legally regulate firearms of any kind, at any time, for any reason."

Someone who gets it. What about the other 6 who voted in favor? Do they also believe that local governments can do whatever they deem best whether it flies in the face of the US Constitution or not? It certainly looks that way. At least 2 people were unsure enough to abstain from voting at all.

How can someone who ignores the constitutionality os a law because she "feels" it is the "right" thing to do, be in control of any governmental office? Probably because the socialist movement is alive and thriving in our Capitalistic Constitutional Republic. And with the selection of a Marxist thinking president the trend away from capitalism and toward socialism is only going to accelerate.

The saddest part of this equation, is that the conservative in this country are giving in and giving up. The task of educating the public about issues and dealing within the framework of our Constitution is getting harder and harder. We are an instant gratification society and we want what we want when we want it. Damned the logic and legality! Government works for me and I demand my free rewards and benefits.

I'm stunned every day by the liberal arguments buzzing around me and the lack of rational thought and competing ideas from the Fourth Estate, which I think killed itself this election year. News organizations are supposed to be the watchdogs of government and report to the public whatever they know about the issues with an objective point of view.

To educate not to indoctrinate! The mass media abandoned all pretenses of that code this election cycle and they will never go back. Their headlines and stories are more cheerleading than information.

The United States Government IS NOT a democracy! We are a Constitutional Republic. We are governed by laws not by man. We cannot make laws based upon what is the popular point of view at the time. We are required to debate and legislate within the framework of what the Constitution states is appropriate actions of government. We cannot legislate what we "feel" would be right. government does not have a free reign in its actions. Government and its politicians are required to behave like good stewards of this government not run roughshod over it whenever it suits their needs.

Who really cares about it being unconstitutional? I DO!

Do you?
